Exhaust Gas Scrubber

Efficient water treatment with high-performance plastic piping systems and automated processes.

Application

Durable, corrosion-resistant, and cost-effective piping for sulfur emission reduction

Since 2020, the International Maritime Organization has required a reduction in the maximum sulfur limit in marine fuels from 3.5% to 0.5%. To comply, ships must use low-sulfur fuels, gas, or adopt scrubbing technology while continuing to use high-sulfur fuel oils (HSFO). Exhaust gas scrubbers remove sulfur from emissions, allowing the use of HSFO. Plastic piping in scrubbers plays a critical role, offering corrosion resistance, chemical stability, and lightweight properties. Materials like PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) and CPVC (chlorinated polyvinyl chloride) are ideal for handling acidic effluents. In additional, plastic pipes with marine approvals are easy to install and maintain, reducing operational costs and downtime.
