GF Piping Systems receives Swiss Manufacturing Award
The Institute of Technology Management at the University of St. Gallen honors companies that choose Switzerland as a manufacturing location with this prestigious award. GF Piping Systems was awarded 2nd place following the evaluation based on financial, production, and market figures and the company's positioning in terms of investment in production capacity and technology in Switzerland within the past year.
Announced on October 26, 2021, and hosted for the third time, the Institute of Technology Management ranked 220 companies that have strengthened Switzerland as a manufacturing location using the Swiss Manufacturing Survey 2021 conducted together with the ETH Zurich. Quantitative criteria focused on innovation, capacity expansion, and performance improvement from 2020 to 2021, alongside additional interview-based case studies, helped the jury members from the University St. Gallen select the top five.
"The Swiss Manufacturing Survey from the Institute of Technology Management at the University of St. Gallen provides a tool for mapping the challenges and decisions of Swiss manufacturing companies. In addition to a dedicated chapter on the Corona crisis, the report depicts the manufacturing landscape in terms of markets and customers, characteristics of Swiss manufacturing sites, employees, and innovation and performance," writes Prof. Dr. Thomas Friedli, Director Institute of Technology Management.
