The Pneumatic Actuator and Positioner: GF Piping Systems adds further award-winning innovation to its process automation family
The Red Dot Award-winning product design manufactured with recyclable composite materials and new sizing options builds further strength into GF's process automation family while significantly contributing to the corporation's sustainability goal of achieving 70% of sales with social and environmental benefits.
The innovative Pneumatic Actuator and Positioner offer a pneumatic valve pack with a lifetime as long as the entire piping system. Designed for multiple industries, including microelectronics, marine, and chemical processing, both innovations' highly chemical resistant material is ideal for use in applications that support hazardous media.

The lightweight, non-corrosive, plastic Pneumatic Actuator type PPA, made from glass-fibre-reinforced polypropylene (PP-GF), offers optimal application fit and high chemical resistance covering the whole ball valve range from DN10/15 (½ ") to DN 100 (4 "). All possible valve and actuator combinations and the actuator passed significant testing under extreme environmental conditions to ensure a reliable torque performance on the ball valve.
The PPA is available in two versions: compact double-acting or a spring revolver principle offered fail-safe open or fail-safe-close. The spring technology adds application flexibility at the 4.2 bar standard range. A new feature is the integrated NAMUR interface for pilot valves, allowing decentralized supply and eliminating the need for special adapters. The Pneumatic Actuator achieves a minimum of 250'000 cycles and works smoothly even after long periods without operation.
The Positioner offers an optimized application range for GF linear stroke (DIASTAR) and rotary actuators (PPA & its predecessor PA) and the following functionality expansion options: on/off switch, display, PID controller, analog position feedback, LED feedback. The compact design of the positioner and plastic adapter allows lower installation setup height. It is UL compliant. Both new products are now available in several sizes.
